Melwood also led an effort to showcase how states and local were specifically using social media in reforms through a detailed questionnaire, which resulted in the publication, Measurable Success, Growing Adoption, Vast Potential, which helped guide a series of webinars with state and local officials hosted by Melwood’s team.

The Department asked Melwood to join the leadership team of the Stakeholder Engagement & Communications effort of the RSN, helping guide all communications efforts for States conducted by the RSN – which expanded to communications leadership responsibilities within the RSN’s Transitions Work Group of four states working to integrate the different facets of reform as well as helping research and write for the Department’s news feed on Race to the Top successes in states, Progress.
