Kelleigh Welch is a skilled editor, reporter and social media manager, bringing nearly ten years of experience in journalism to the Melwood Global team. A native of Massachusetts, Kelleigh started as a general reporter and editor with The MetroWest Daily News, covering local and regional stories in the town of Westborough. In 2012, she relocated down to New York City to cover the pro audio industry, writing about the technologies and people behind your favorite albums—and attended a lot of concerts in the process. Most recently, Kelleigh served as managing editor for the trade publication Systems Contractor News, where she oversaw the editorial and production process of the magazine, both in print and online.

She is also a dedicated preservationist—both historical and environmental—and has worked with organizations including Open House New York, the Appalachian Mountain Club, Walks of New York and The Metropolitan Museum of Art to help achieve their missions.

Kelleigh is a proud graduate of Roger Williams University with a dual-degree in communications and art/ architectural history, where she discovered her love of media while working with the university’s student-run newspaper, The Hawks’ Herald, eventually rising to editor-in-chief.

In her spare time, Kelleigh enjoys hiking—both on the trails and in the city—and hopes to hike the entire Appalachian Trail in pieces. She loves to travel, especially to countries that are known for its food, and tries to replicate the dishes in her own kitchen. She’s also a great resource when it comes to useless (mainly pop culture-related) knowledge, and can (confidently) quote every line from her favorite show, ‘Parks and Recreation.’
